At Yale University and Minnesota University will be placed on research center for dependence in gambling games and treatment for this dependence .These 2 centers has been create by the National Center for Responsible Gaming.
“We are entering a new era in research of gambling, in large part due to significant, groundbreaking work led by Dr. Howard Shaffer and his team of research (Harvard Medical School) Division on Addictions, the said Glenn Christenson, Chairman of the NCRG.
After many years of research on gambling dependence Shaffer and the group have made a recent study which demonstrates that the dependence on human prejudices games are not based.
Process and its unexpected findings showed the need for objective scientific research in a field often dominated by the so-called “common sense knowledge.”
Center at Yale will analyze factors that influence disorder gambling, including the treatment of combat impulsive gambling.
Center of Minnesota will focus on methods of identification of potential pathological gamblers and to determine factors that cause susceptibility to compulsive gambling.
