Australian Officials Announce Strategy To Help Problem Gambling

New South Wales officials announced plans to help combat problem gambling in the Australian state. The new, three-year strategy will cost tax payers an estimated USD1.7 million.

Gaming Minister Kevin Greene from New South Wales outlined the state’s proposal at this year’s NSW Problem Gambling Counselors Conference in Sydney.

The plan also includes “communications strategies” aimed at breaking down cultural barriers for problem gamblers in Australia’s ethnic communities.

Gaming Minister Kevin Greene said: “The Rees Government is committed to tackling problem gambling early, before problems worsen, and this $1.7million investment is a key part of those efforts,”.
