No Slots Machines In The Budget
Bill Harris, the Senate President from Ohio affirmed that only if the Governor Ted Strickland would like the slot machines being at horse racetracks, he should issue an executive order instead of putting his plan into the state budget.
In order to maintain the situation under control, an Ashland Republican, Harris, told in a Senate session that his GOP caucus which is permanently controling the Senate, has been focused a lot over the proposal being enacted as a part of the budget.
Harris said Republican state senators should vote for the reason to put this problem of slot machines at racetracks before voters, but it is not probably to agree to a slots plan that could legalize them as part of the bugdet of the state for the next two years.
In conclusion, last year Strickland used his authority to expand the Lottery of Ohio by adding some new games as Keno and Harris suggested the governor to authorize the slot machines in a similar way, a way which could make the lottery run better.
