Two British online gambling companies are poised to benefit from a $12 billion betting bonanza in the US amid growing signs America will overturn a ban on internet gaming to boost falling tax receipts.
Goldman Sachs said UK-listed PartyGaming and 888 were positioned to re-enter the potentially massive market.
The biggest push for lifting the ban came from Congress, where Barney Frank,
Frank’s bill has attracted support, particularly at a time when the credit crisis has blown a multi-billion-dollar hole in the US finances.
